Inmate Mail
Friends and Family:
Effective October 1st, 2023, all incoming general mail from friends, family, and acquaintances will be addressed as shown in the example below. The sender must also include a full return address with complete first and last name (no initials).

Mail will now be scanned offsite and delivered to the inmate's Viapath tablet. Incoming mail from friends and family received after October 31, 2023 at any other address (including the facility where the inmate is housed) will be returned to sender. Incoming mail without a return address will be destroyed.
Inmate mail shall not include photographs. All photographs must be sent via "photo sharing" on the Viapath tablet. Mail containing photographs will be returned to sender. If you would like to share photos and do not already have an account, please create a Getting Out account at GettingOut.com. See more information in the "Inmate Tablets" section below.

Deposits into an inmate’s Trust/Commissary account can be made using Viapath’s online payment portal called ConnectNetwork, www.ConnectNetwork.com, using the Kiosk located in the Stevens Correctional Center lobby, on the toll-free automated phone system at 888-988-4768, on Viapath’s Mobile App, or by sending in a money order using the form below. Inmate Tablets
Every inmate is now assigned a Viapath tablet. These tablets are used for receiving and viewing mail, entertainment, and communicating with family and friends by sending messages, photos, or video visits. To communicate with an inmate via the tablet, please create a Getting Out account at GettingOut.com. Please look for WV_DCR McDowell County Jail - WV when searching for our facility on the site.
Inmate Calling
The WV Div. of Corrections and Rehabilitation has contracted with Viapath to provide calling services to inmates. Family and Friends can create an 'AdvancePay Phone' account using www.connectnetwork.com. You can see more information by clicking -HERE-.
Inmate Packages
